Proverbs 4:23  “Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life.”

Inner healing begins and ends with the spiritual state of the heart.

            -Can’t have inner healing without a healed heart

            -Heart wounds are the most dangerous type of wounds

                        -They impact everything

                                    -Thoughts, actions, deeds, attitudes, perceptions, IDENTITY, etc.

                        -They go wherever we go… can’t run away from them   (only heal them)

God’s desire is to heal our inner wounds

Psalm 147:3     “He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds.”

Isaiah 53:5       “But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.”

                                    -Wounds are external (physical healing)

                                    -Bruises are internal (inner healing)

1 Peter 5:7       “casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.”

Why do we need Inner Healing?

            They can potentially affect, but limited to:

                        -Fears

                        -General Accusations

                        -Shame

                        -Pain

                        -Illness

                        -Depression

                        -Irrational Behaviors

                        -etc.

There is an element of the demonic within the wounds that need inner healing in that at times we open the door to the demonic and allow them to fester, affect, impact, etc., our thoughts, perceptions, attitudes, and behaviors.

            -Part of inner healing is deliverance from demonic oppression in specific areas.

                     (will walk you through those steps at the end)

“SOZO”

-used more than 110 times in the New Testament

-Means, “to be saved or rescued out from under Satan’s power and restored into the wholeness of God’s order and well-being.”

            -Used to mean “Saved” from Eternal Punishment of Sin

            -Used to mean “Healed” of diseases

            -Used to mean to be “Delivered” from demonic oppression

            -It can be used to mean all three at the same time.

            -“It is also used as a verb when someone is raised from the dead.”

            -“To be ‘Sozo’, is to be saved completely”

“Saved” examples:

Acts 4:12          “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”

Romans 10:9    “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.”

Ephesians 2:8  “For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God,”

“Healed” examples:

Matthew 9:22  “But Jesus turned around, and when He saw her, He said, “Be of good cheer, daughter; your faith has made you well.” And the woman was made well from that hour.

Mark 6:56        “Wherever He entered, into villages, cities, or the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and begged Him that they might just touch the hem of His garment. And as many as touched Him were made well.”

Mark 10:52      “Then Jesus said to him, “Go your way; your faith has ^[a]made you well.” And immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus on the road.”

“Delivered” examples:

Luke 8:36        “They also who had seen it told them by what means he who had been demon-possessed was healed.”

2 Timothy 4:18 “And the Lord will deliver me from every evil work and preserve me for His heavenly kingdom. To Him be glory forever and ever. Amen!”

Jude 1:5           “But I want to remind you, though you once knew this, that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed those who did not believe.”

All three examples:

Luke 19:9-10    “And Jesus said to him, “Today salvation has come to this house, because he also is a son of Abraham; ¹⁰ for the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost.”

John 20:21       “So Jesus said to them again, “Peace to you! As the Father has sent Me, I also send you.”

Jesus encompasses the complete healing nature of the Father….

Luke 4:18        “The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, Because He has anointed Me
To preach the gospel to the poor;
He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives
And recovery of sight to the blind,
To set at liberty those who are oppressed;

-Forgiveness

            -Forgiving others

            -Forgiving ourselves

-How we see ourselves

Chosen (Colossians 3:12)

The Bride of Christ (2 Corinthians 11:2)

-How we hear God

            -What does He say about me?  What is He saying?  What was He saying?

            -Hurt impact directly our ability to hear God

                        -When hurt becomes the lens we see and hear from, we don’t hear/see clearly

-Generational Curses

-Nurturing/Maintaining your healing

Tool: Healing Wounded Memories –

Quick Reference If a person has a memory of an experience of being wounded that is causing them inner pain, consider leading them through the following prayer for Jesus to heal them of these wounded memories. This can come up during any part of the prayer. If a wounded memory surfaces, stop and lead them through this tool. Prompt option: Jesus, what memories from my past do you want to heal right now?

 1) Enter in: Invite them to let the memory come clearly into their mind like a movie. Have them ask: “Jesus, where were you when this happened to me?” Pause, and then ask them to share with you what they see in their imagination.

2) Identify: “Jesus what lies did I come to believe from this experience?”

 3) Renounce Lie: “In the name of Jesus I renounce the lie that __”

4) Exchange: “Jesus what truth do you want to give me in exchange for these lies?” a) Declare: “In the name of Jesus, I declare the truth that _________”

 5) Forgive: Invite them to forgive anyone responsible: “In the name of Jesus, I choose to forgive _____ for _____.”

6) Renounce (optional: If you discern any evil spirits operating, invite them to renounce those spirits) In the name of Jesus I renounce the spirit of _________.

7) Prayer: Lay hands and pray: Father in the name of Jesus, I ask you to send your Holy Spirit to heal every emotion associated with this memory right now. I ask you to restore their heart and bring new life out of this memory in Jesus name.”

8) Re-interview: Go back to the memory, what is the status? How does it feel to you? a) If there is restoration and freedom, then praise and thank God! b) If there is still bad fruit, go back into the memory and repeat.
